WORKSHOP STARTS FROM 8AM- 4PM.
Learn the BASICS OF THE BRUSH, THE RULES TO LETTERING & LAYOUT, MULTIPLE ALPHABETS, EFFECTS LIKE CONVEX/BEVELED LETTERS, BLENDING & FAUX MARBLE, and MUCH MORE.
Students will build their skills each week and will complete the course with their own custom hand painted sign using all the skills acquired.
Some homework will be assigned, materials will be provided.
We will take a 45 min break to eat lunch.

Paint and age a custom one-of-a-kind "Antique" sign!
I will have a handful of designs to choose from and will go over many different techniques for creating a faux antique sign. This class is a lot of fun and very forgiving if you are worried about your skill level. No drawing or prior skills necessary.
For beginners to advanced, 10am-2pm in person.

Learn the basics of the brush and create a hand painted sign from scratch. With expert guidance from Smart Alex and a special guest.
From layout, lettering, tools of the trade, suppliers and much more. Kick off your sign painting journey here, for beginners to pros, hobbyists or anybody interested in the craft.
8am-4pm with a 45-min lunch break. Lunch not provided.
A fridge is available for anybody who’d like to bring their own lunch. Located in Huntington Beach, address provided upon confirmation.
Materials will be supplied for the class.
Participants will leave with their new sign, practice charts & instructional handouts.
WORKSHOP STARTS ON SATURDAY, AUG. 3.
2 HOURS AND 30 MINUTES

Layout class will focus on designing different types of signs with a pencil and paper through Zoom.
Each class, a different set of copy will be given and students will engage in creating their own version of that sign within the allotted time.
Tips and critiques will be given by the instructor during and after design has been completed.
Please have a sharp pencil, eraser, (2) blank 8 1/2 x 11 paper and a ruler.
WORKSHOP ON FRIDAY, AUG. 2 FROM 9:00AM TO 2:00PM (5 HOURS)

Learn how to Surface Gild in reverse on glass, plus abalone/mother of pearl inlay.
The instructor will go over application, materials & where to purchase them, plus different effects for the gold and after care. Everything you need to know to get started gilding on just about any surface!
Surface gilding workshop for new students starts at $200
while returning 2-3 day students is at $150. Book now!
Students will leave with a finished glass sign. Please bring a notebook and pen, all materials provided.
